Ennui (free) 01:38
Life is slow and full of ordinary things No thing spectacular to talk about Life is long and laden with mundane events We've seen no miracles to speak of and I get so tired sometimes..
2.
Beset (free) 02:57
I wake up hungry and dysphoric in a fit of mallaise I wake up bleary and disoriented before the day breaks As the broth of the night that had boiled in my brain leaves my to shiver with the sweat that leaches heat from my veins I wake up burning in the sun falling halfway through daylight Stumble stiff unto the surface of my afternoon face As my eyes stutter in their shutters to assimilate the day I grasp a glimpse of the evening a few hours away And I wake up tired birthed into cool damp twilight air The darkness soothes the flames between my temples
3.
To expect, to resign (free) 02:15
We can take back the summer it's not too late for that and if the heat overwhelms us We can lie on our backs watch the cirrus clouds drifting with the sweet smell of fresh asphalt But the long dry months will weary us and with the autumn we grow listless then the winter winds whisper this last year just flew by and I'm left here to wonder if we're wasting our time With my pen on the paper as the summer sets in We can take back the summer but that too will end
4.
Serotonin skapegoat (free) 02:01
I know I'm always ungrateful and I always seem bored and I'm always unhappy but I'm happy I'm yours I don't mean to seem bitter I don't mean to complain I guess maybe the world is not ending today you should know that I love you that I cherish each moment it's just habit and low serotonin that make me this way
5.
Anthelminthic (free) 02:45
The brain is a parasite to which the body is host And the ghost of our evolution died when we assumed the role The human mind is a virus that we can not help but feed to act, speak or reproduce is to spread the disease And the symptoms are fatal we have all lost control This pandemic has grown palpable, metastatic and untreatable And anyway, there is no recourse as our own palliative patients We are awaiting our death with no dignity left
6.
The human thought machines just tend to burden me I'd rather sit here by myself If we're the problem here we should collectively agree to quietly bow out But every raised voice pours into the great white noise so any wisdom gets drowned out And so it never makes a difference Our well intentioned courses all diverged at birth each bumbling being on its own And our devices honed to sting the other drones in search of peaceful quiet lives As every parasite must have its quiet night so we can get our beauty sleep God knows it never made a difference It seems a fallacy to think we can succeed when every species goes extinct And how is it success when we can never rest I find my solace in the end Some kinds of sickness fade after they've seen their day but some die only with the host Perhaps God rewards persistence I have resigned myself to let the winds prevail they say it never hurts to try but it never made a difference

about

Exit Interview Denver, Colorado

for many years music was my life and, although i was never very good, i was always very passionate about it. now my life has taken me elsewhere. these seven pieces i leave here to serve as the portrait of my former self. as much for me as for anyone else. let us always remember where we have been, with an eye to the ground where our feet will fall on the path ahead. ... more
